im kartenmachen bin ich total schlecht… ich meine, karten für einen bestimmten anlass zu machen, wie geburtstag oder so… nie schaffe ich es, mir da einen vorrat anzulegen…
aber heute, nach dem einfärben der kontenseiten, war ich richtig gut drauf. mein plan ist, für jedes mitglied unseres münchner stempeltreffs eine geburtstagskarte zu schaffen – bis samstag, da haben wir nämlich unseren jährlichen sommertreff. muss jetzt egal sein, ob die geburtstage schon waren oder erst kommen werden… gilt einfach für 2008;))

i´m sooooo bad at making cards… i mean at cards for an occasion, like birthday cards… i don´t know, i never have a stash to take from…

but today – after dyeing my ledger – i was on a roll and started making birthday cards for the members of our munich group. we will have a meeting on saturday, and my plan is everybody should get a card then. whenever their birthday was or will be…;)

ok,ok, i know halloween is over… but i had agreed to participate in a carvers swap two or three months ago and now it´s deadline… – i found out that these big carving plates don´t become better with aging… see stripes at the bottom of frankie´s chin. though i have them laying without contact, the surface doesn´t stay perfectly even over the years… reminds a bit of the old b/w-movies, doesn´t it? – alpha was one of my first carving projects quite some years ago.

jaja, andere jahreszeit mittlerweile… aber als ich diesen schnitz-swap zugesagt hatte, war früher herbst und nun ist deadline… – fand übrigens bei dieser gelegenheit heraus, dass die schnitzplatten im laufe der zeit macken kriegen (auch bei lagerung ohne oberflächenkontakte), siehe unterhalb von frankies kinn. na ja, find´s nicht so schlimm, selbstgeschnitztes soll ja nicht sooooo perfekt sein;) erinnert vielleicht ein bisschen an die streifen in alten s/w-filmen *g* – das alphabet war übrigens eines meiner ersten schnitzprojekte und dürfte mittlerweile so ca. 10 jahre auf dem buckel haben.

so, made one more, non-floral, for a guy. car-stamp from stampers anonymous.

war grade so gut dabei, da hab ich auch gleich noch eine karte für einen kerl gemacht. nicht-blumig diesmal. auch hier fehlen noch die grüße, weiß aber noch nicht, zu welchem anlass… stempel ist von stampers anonymous.

birthday greetings for a stamping friend (idea seen in cloth paper scissors, i think it was the last winter-issue). sturdy covers cut off a book no longer needed – decorated with scrapbook-paper, smearing of golden fluid acrylics in white, old b/w photos (i got from an exchange of collage-materials), stamping and oilpastell-crayoning in red and white. then bound with metallic rings. it is sturdy enough to stand.

zum geburtstag einer stempelfreundin (idee dazu gesehen in einer ausgabe von cloth paper scissors, ich glaube es war das letzte winterheft). buchdeckel von ausrangierten büchern, beklebt mit scrapbooking paper, beschmiert mit golden fluid acrylics in weiß, s/w-fotos, gestempel und ölpastell-kreiden in rot und weiß. gebunden dann mit metallringen (hier noch nicht drin, liegt sonst nicht flach im scanner). kann aufrecht stehen.

paperquilt “egypt”

today i made this paperquilt with egyptian motifs. it was fun and i want to credit the idea for this kind of quilts to teesha moore, who showed the how-to in her zine “art and life” issue 2.
stamps i used (7) are all from stamp francisco. i was asked if i would like to be a featured artist on their new website (soon to come;) and i had agreed. then i had a block, as i often have when i have to concentrate on stamps/products of one certain company… in this case i have thousand ideas what to make with other stuff. today i thought i might make a paperquilt. i hope it is not too large for them, will see… i do not want to make a “pure” stamping project at the moment.
