the last but one in the full moon series: september is harvest moon – “Farmers could continue harvesting until after sunset by the light of the Harvest Moon”

the moon series: strawberry moon

the full moon of june is the strawberry moon: “Strawberries were ready to be picked and eaten” – the background is spray painted in turquoise, which is theme at take-a-word this week.

time for another folder in my moon series: “Hunters tracked and killed prey by moonlight, stockpiling food for the coming winter” – so october´s full moon is called hunter´s moon.

tomorrow is full moon again, time for a new file folder page in my series – according to the algonquian indians it is “wolf moon” (hungry wolf packs howled at night) … and a theme also fitting the take-a-word challenge “nature”.

moon series: snow moon

today is full moon… so time to go on with my moon series…

actually today is cold moon, but that folder page i already made a while ago… so this time i went with the name of the february full moon, the snow moon. (we also have some snow now, but very wet, not supposed to stay.)
spray painted stenciled background, photos from the internet + edited; labels from jessica sprague; snow stamp in various sizes from flamingo artstamps, germany.

next one in the moon series – in july the full moon is called “buck moon”:
“new antlers of buck deer, coated with velvety fur, began to form”

the moon series: pink moon

in the month of april the full moon is called “pink moon” (an early spring flower called “moss pink” started to bloom). i googled the flower and found out that we have a similar postage stamp which really fits this bloom very well. on friday (after an odyssey of 7 seven weeks) i got wonderful mail from patty (thank you so much!!), including a magazine with this wonderful photo of a young native american girl – which was perfect for this layout.
