time to say goodbye war das lied, das gestern auf der beerdigung unseres nachbarn gespielt wurde… der anlass war natürlich sehr traurig, aber dadurch dass sich die familie schon lange auf diesen tod vorbereitet hatte, war die gestaltung der trauerfeier sehr schön, sehr bewegend. wir standen bei herrlichstem frühlingswetter am grab (zum ersten mal in diesem jahr wurde die 20°celsius-marke überschritten). wir nachbarn hatten ihm einen weidenring mit frühlingsblumen bepflanzen lassen…

time to say goodbye was the song which was played at the burial of our neighbor yesterday. though the cause was very sad, the family (who had expected this for a long time) had prepared a really wonderful ceremony, very touching. at best spring weather (first time over 68° fahrenheit this year) we stood at the grave. this is the ring of willow we neighbors had got planted for him, full with spring flowers…

grammy “album of the year”

ich hatte ja vor knapp einem jahr das album hier schon mal gelobt… und nun war es der große abräumer gestern bei der grammy-verleihung – gleich 5 auszeichnungen, eine als “album des jahres”.

of course, this song is a cover version of “the who”… but as we all know, that was the best time of music;))

klar, dieser song ist eine cover-version von einem “the who” – titel. es iss halt so, das war die beste zeit in der musik, wir wissens doch!!

i had time to play, i WANTED to play, but i was afraid of a valentine theme this week at wednesdaystampers… i´m so sorry folks, but i can´t use these romantic (not to say kitschy) pics any more, i just CAN´T… my scissors refuse to cut *g*… and what was the theme suggested?? (i had it in the urine…) KISS!! LOL!!

but, not more than a second to realize: that is a WONDERFUL theme for me!!

ok, there is a little story behind: when i was younger, my colleagues and me always made a motto at carneval in our school to dress up… one year we made snowwhite (a man in high heels in this case) and the seven dwarfs (we girls of course)… another year… well, it is exactly 20 years now (i know because i was pregnant with my first son) that we performed as KISS, the rockband. we sure had fun to paint our faces!

i would have used pics of that, if i had found them (and i think i have only slides…)

though *kiss* are not my absolute favorite band, they make solid hard rock and i can go with their song:

ich hatte zeit, ich WOLLTE teilnehmen, aber ich hatte es schon befürchtet: die mittwochsherausforderung könnte valentinisch werden;))
es tut mir wirklich leid, aber ich kann mich für diese kitsch-romantischen bildchen einfach nicht erwärmen, ich KANN sie nicht verwenden, meine schere sträubt sich LOL!!!
und natürlich, was kam als thema?? (ich hatte es ja im urin:) KISS!!

na, keine sekunde und ich erkannte, dass das ja ein super thema war für mich!

kleine geschichte am rande: vor langer langer zeit suchten meine kollegen und ich uns immer ein gemeinsames motto für unseren schulfasching… ein jahr waren es mal schneewittchen (ein kerl in stöckelschuhen) und die 7 zwerge (wir mädels natürlich)… und ein jahr eben (vor genau 20 jahren; weiß ich deshalb so genau, weil ich gerade mit meinem ersten sohn schwanger war) traten wir als KISS auf. war das ein spaß beim schminken!!
ich hätte ja zu gerne fotos davon hier verwendet, aber ich find grad nix (und ich glaube es existieren nur dias davon…)

und obwohl KISS jetzt nicht meine absolute lieblingsband ist, soliden rock spielen sie allemale. ganz gut gefällt mir natürlich *god gave rock n roll to you*

die seite, die ich gestern dazu gestaltet habe, wird in mein skinny halloweenbuch eingehen. – der textstempel (“nevermore”) ist eine sonderanfertigung.
eine schöne lesung (von christopher walken) seines berühmten raben-gedichts gibt es übrigens hier.

inspiriert zu dieser karte wurde ich durch angela behrendt mit ihren gestickten “i like amy winehouse” briefmarken – und deswegen geht diese karte auch an sie…

i was inspired to this card by angela behrendt and her stitched “i like amy winehouse” stamps – and this is my answer to her…

hab zuerst diesen friedhofsengel auf weißen karteikarton gedruckt

first i printed this graveyard angel onto white cardstock

die rückseite wieder mal mit meinen geliebten vivid-refills (hier natürlich schwarz) eingefärbt und mit wasser bespritzt; nach dem trocknen mit dem laminiergerät gebügelt (ohne folie, versteht sich;))

painted the backside with black refill-dyeink (vivid) and spritzed with water; when dry, ironed with the laminator (without foil, of course;))

“artistamps” hergestellt mit herzstempel (rbbb); gnagnagna, der “post”-stempel ist mir beim abwaschen in den spülabfluss gerutscht (hab ja immer alles unmontiert…) und ist damit für immer weg…
schrift (acapella-stempel) und friedhof (greenpepperpress) gestempelt, artistamps aufgeklebt…

nach kaum einer halben stunde suche nach meinem dymo (ich war kurz vorm aufgeben) die “goodbye”-streifen gedruckt und aufgeklebt

after searching for my dymo almost half an hour i printed the “goodbye” stripes

und dann noch die andere seite fertig gemacht: den engel mit gesichtsstreifen von amy winehouse verfremdet, “POST mortem” ist wieder ein privat hergestellter stempel; neocolor II für den rand… und noch die adresse drauf. ich wusste nicht, ob bei all dem geklebe die post noch eine 45er marke akzeptiert hätte, aber die 55er fand ich thematisch sowieso passender;)

first snow

wir hatten den ersten schnee dieses wochenende… ist ja immer etwas zwiespältig, sieht zwar (wenigstens frisch geschneit) schön aus, aber mit dem rad fahr ich dann nicht mehr so gerne den berg bei uns runter…
egal, jetzt ist es noch genau ein monat bis hl. abend und es wird zeit, die kids mal nach ihren wünschen zu interviewen…
und weil es weihnachten ja meistens eher nicht schneit, schon mal heute dieses nett cartoonierte lied - die lebkuchensaison ist hiermit offiziell eröffnet;))

we had the first snow of this winter this weekend… that is always a little ambivalent: it looks wonderful (at least when the snow is fresh), but riding the bike gets difficult…
anyway, it is exactly one month til xmas eve today, time to ask the kids for their wishes…
and because xmas is often snow-free, i already link to this beautifully cartooned song today – the lebkuchen-season is officially opened now;))

google hat mich darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass heute der geburtstag des großen surrealisten rené magritte ist – er wurde 1898 geboren.
etliche seiner bildmotive hat rbbb herausgebracht, mittlerweise bei stamp francisco erhältlich (einfach bei “search” den begriff “magritte” eingeben)

(gibts als stempel auch bei viva las vegastamps)

vor 25 jahren wurde dieser film (dt. titel: fröhliche weihnachten) uraufgeführt, einer meiner absoluten “weihnachtslieblinge”!

die 1940 in den usa spielende geschichte erzählt vom neunjährigen ralphie, der nur einen großen weihnachtswunsch hat: ein red ryder-modell-luftgewehr mit 200 Meter Schussweite, eingebautem Kompass und Zeitanzeiger… leider, leider hält alle welt das für ein schlechtes geschenk, er würde sich damit nur die augen ausschießen… auch der versoffene weihnachtsmann im kaufhaus ist ihm keine hilfe…

ein total witziger film, eine durchaus satirische familienkomödie – und leider hat es warner bros. immer noch nicht geschafft, den film in deutscher synchronisation auf dvd herauszubringen. es heißt also wieder die programmhefte durchforsten, alle paar jahre läuft er ja auch mal bei uns, meist in einem der dritten…

na, das nenne ich eine herausforderung! ich hatte absolut keinen schimmer, was ich mit dem thema “telefon” (diese woche bei den mittwochstemplern) anfangen sollte…
dann erinnerte ich mich, dass ich in meinen frühen stempeljahren mal ein stilisiertes telefon geschnitzt hatte…
und das lied dazu kennen meine deutschsprachigen besucher alle:)

that´s what i call a challenge! i had no idea what to make when i saw the wednesdaystampers´ theme today… then i remembered in my early stamping years i had carved a stylized telephone…
