und noch was nettes gefunden: bsp 1 und 2 – in eiswürfelformen seaglass (gibts billig in jedem decoladen) & kleine doodads mit flüssigem utee überziehen… hab natürlich wieder keinen melting pot, ich sag ja, es fehlt an allen ecken und enden;)
wär doch mal ne idee für die mekka-tauschereien? und ich krieg dann einen für das posten der idee;))

leider brauche ich noch etwas geduld, was meine rostpapiere betrifft… sie waren auf der terrasse und es hat mir draufgeregnet – dauert jetzt noch ein weilchen mit trocknen. und so schön wie die exemplare, die ute immer fabriziert, werden sie auch nicht (was mich jetzt erstmal nicht wundert;)
ute hat übrigens ein neues rostprojekt gemacht, diesmal mit stoff, wieder sehr schön, hier zu sehen.
aber ich will euch mal bzgl. des rezeptes nicht länger auf die folter spannen. es stammt von ute und geht so:
Der erste Weg ist auf den Schrottplatz, Wertstoffhof oder in die Werkstatt angerostete Eisenteile suchen und finden.
Es ist alles (Sägeblätter, Unterlagscheiben, Nägel, Schlüssel, Scheren…..) zu gebrauchen, Hauptsache Eisen.
Dann habe ich ein altes Backblech, da lege ich Papier (etwas stärkeres, aber es geht auch Kopierpapier, Stoff……) rein, dann das Eisenteil, wieder Papier, so etwa drei bis vier Lagen
jetzt eine Mischung aus 1 Liter Wasser, 1 TL Salz, ein Schuss Essig,
aber Achtung, ich habe keine Ahnung, ob das gesundheitsgefährdend ist 
es riecht auf jeden Fall streng, darüberschütten, bis alles gut nass ist,
dann braucht man eine große Portion Geduld, etwa eine Woche
bis alles trocken ist, fertig ist das Rostpapier 
)
Manchmal bilden sich Salzkristalle, dann wars zuviel Salz, die kann man abkrümeln
und im Laufe der Zeit verrosteten die Eisenstücke und zerfallen 
dann halt mal wieder auf den Schrottplatz.
(ich glaube übrigens eher nicht, dass das gesundheitsgefährdend ist… aber den essiggeruch müsste ich jetzt nicht im haus haben, deswegen hab ichs auch draußen deponiert.)
jaja, man braucht eine große portion geduld… das iss ja mal wieder genau das richtige für mich;)
und wie das immer so ist, wenn man sich mit einem thema beschäftigt, kommen plötzlich informationen dazu von allen seiten… stolpere ich doch gestern über die ankündigung eines neuen mixed media online zines, fibre & stitch, das im september erstmals erscheinen soll. auf der seite gibts auch ein paar kostenlose projekte, und eins davon ist… färben mit rost! geht mal da kucken, man kann sich das als pdf runter laden. auch sehr schön!

another cheap trick i love is to make my own dymo labels – taking the cheap dymo-tool and running through cardstock i colored in myself.
this is not only a question of cheapness, but has the advantages that first, you can take the color which fits your project (so you are not limited to the standard colors you can buy) and second, you don´t have that shiny plastic touch, which sometimes doesn´t match (in my taste).
you only cut the cardbord in the width of the storebought rolls, color it in as you like and run it through. after that i thoroughly wipe with a black brilliance stamppad over the risen typing to make it better visible. that´s all!

i think this fits the theme of this week´s ws-challenge - the nicho has a DOOR to open. (just one hour ago i heard of the birth of the baby and now the nicho i prepared last week is on its way…)
ich denke, das passt genau zur mittwochstempler-herausforderung dieser woche: schließlich kann man die TÜR dieses kleinen sternenschreins wirklich öffnen… (hab grad vor einer stunde erfahren, dass die kleine jetzt da ist, und nun ist der schrein unterwegs und kommt hoffentlich bis freitag an, wenn mutter und kind das krankenhaus verlassen)
i made this as a present for the birth of a stamppal´s baby. this is a mexican star nicho, which i treated with various colors: golden acrylics in cad. red light & cad. orange, lumiere “hi lite red” and brilliance black and red stamppads (for stamping and adding a finish at the edges). stamps are from cherry pie. the nicho can be opened and offers a space of matchbox-size, a bit deeper. i put a gem into the matchbox and glued a paper on top (girl-stamp from catslife press), which only is thought to be a placeholder for a photo the parents can insert. the nicho has a loop on the back to be hanged at the wall.
the gem is a red jasper, which has the following meaning:

dies hab ich als geburtsgeschenk für eine stempelfreundin gemacht, die gerade ein mädchen geboren hat. es ist ein mexikanischer sternenschrein, den ich bearbeitet habe mit golden acrylics in cad. red light & cad. orange, lumiere “hi lite red” und brilliancekissen in schwarz und rot (zum bestempeln und für die ränder). die stempel sind von cherry pie. der schrein kann geöffnet werden, innen ist platz für eine streichholzschachtel (ein bisschen tiefer). in die schachtel hab ich einen edelstein gelegt und oben ein papierstück drauf geklebt (girl-textstempel von catslife press), das allerdings nur als platzhalter gedacht ist für ein foto, das die eltern dann einsetzen können. durch einen aufhänger kann der stern an die wand gehängt werden.
der edelstein ist ein roter jaspis, dem folgende eigenschaften zugeschrieben werden:

(den schrein gibts bei silvercrow creations und ich musste mich überwinden, ihn zu bemalen, weil er mir in natura schon so gut gefiel;)

na, alles andere hätt mich doch glatt gewundert… wo doch blau seit immer schon meine lieblingsfarbe ist.

so, nun hab ich heute mal das mieserable wetter genutzt und ein bisschen mit meinen transfers experimentiert.
ums vorweg zu nehmen: ich glaube, mein ding wird das nicht…
aber der reihe nach:
today i made the best (well…;) of the rainy weather and went on with my experiments concerning transfers.
to anticipate my decision: i don´t think that will really become my thing…
but step by step:
versuch 1:
also – gelmedium auf die karte gestrichen und fledermausbild drauf. gerubbelt wie doof (fehler?) und vermutlich nicht lange genug gewartet (gute 5 minuten?)… als ich dann gemerkt habe, dass ich ganze teile der folie klumpig abrubble, aufgehört. na ja. da wusste ich noch nicht: es kann schlimmer kommen *g* – es lässt sich annähernd wenigstens als fledermäuse identifizieren.
experiment 1:
brushed gel medium onto card and layed bat-pic on top. scratched quite intensely (mistake i suppose) and i think i didn´t wait long enough (about 5 minutes?)… when i saw the pic comes down from the foil in cloggy pieces, i stopped. well, at this point i did not yet know it can come worse *g* – at least you can somehow identify these as bats…
versuch 2 und 3:
was ist das denn?? ich verrate es euch: es hätte ein basilisk werden sollen. unten ist er noch annähernd erkennbar, aber auch zu viel gerubbelt. – an diesem punkt beschloss ich: das gel-medium wird wohl nicht die richtige konsistenz haben. ich hab den großen pot ja schon länger, vermutlich ist es nicht mehr cremig genug. also ein bisschen was rausgenommen in ein kleines glas und wasser zugegeben. wird es helfen?…
exp. 2+3:
what is this?? i tell you: should be a basilisk. at pic no.3 you could guess it maybe, but too much scratching here again. – at this point i thought the gel medium might not have the right consistency (have it for a long time now and maybe it´s not wet enough any longer). took a small amout out of the pot and thinned it with water. will it help?
versuch 4:
das mittlerweile verdünnte gel benutzt. mit dem kopf der schildkröte wäre ich ja ganz zufrieden, aber eben nur mit dem kopf.
versuch 5:
ja, doch!! das sollte die gleiche schildkröte sein wie oben!!! nicht erraten??
exp. 4:
took the thinned gel. i´m content with the head of the turtle, but the rest…
exp. 5:
yes – same turtle as above!! you did not guess that??
versuch 7:
fazit:
man soll ja nie “nie” sagen. vielleicht probier ich es ja noch mal. aber meine lieblingstechnik wird das wohl nicht…
andererseits: jetzt hab ich ein paar grundlagen für ein paar richtig grungy karten. kleb ich halt noch was drauf und schmier weiter *g* – verloren geb ich so schnell nichts. und ein paar von den folienbildern konnte ich auch noch so weit retten, dass sie als solche weiter verwendbar sind für andere zwecke…
conclusion:
never say “never”. i *might* give it another try some day… but i don´t think this will become my favorite technique…
on the other hand: i have some really grungy bases for cards now. just adding on some papers and smear on… – never waste something *g*! and i could save some of the transparencies (washed them) to use them on other pieces…
