when i heard of the death of amy winehouse, i instantly thought of the “club 27″… what is it that drives these talented young people to drugs and early death?

monday means: a new texture from kim klassen… actually it was dymphie, who put me into her direction a few weeks ago. thanks for that, i needed another infection;)
this week´s freebie is “summer lovin´”
i used it with a plant i photographed last fall. and meanwhile i´ve learned to stamp my photos with my name. (things go slowly, but they go;))
take a word: flight
actually the most i did the last days was spraypainting some backgrounds. so for this tag i just took one of them, stamped it with a butterfly and added some tim holtz tape. done! it is my contribution for the flight theme at take-a-word.
only two more weeks…
… and vacation will come. i´m sooo looking forward to it!!!
and as every year: everybody seems to go nuts the last weeks…
(i couldn´t resist the pun, as our garden is full of nuts, too;))

stampotique designers challenge asks for flowers this week…
i took a photo of a fritillaria i made in my garden this spring, layered it to become a “faux holga” (ttv) picture and glued it onto a spray painted background, which was white-stamped with a fritillaria rubber stamp.
kim klassen textures
i bet many of you know about kim klassen´s wonderful textures she sends out every monday for free. (thank you so much, kim!) and now it is the first time i dared digital layering. i love today´s texture “aurora” and layered it over a photo i made last october.
kim klassen schickt jede woche ein texture bsp zum freien download. mir gefällt das von dieser woche sehr gut und da hab ich es jetzt auch mal gewagt, es über ein foto zu layern, das ich letzten oktober geknipst hatte.
spraying some backgrounds
another hot day… so i spent my time in the garden. spray painted quite some watercolor papers to have reserve for instant hits of the muse… actually sometimes i think making backgrounds is my main destiny…
i put the desk into the shadow and thus i colored the bell flowers, too;)
nachdem es heute wieder schwül-heiß war, hab ich wieder im garten gewerkelt. hab einen ganzen stapel aquarellpapier eingesprüht (mit adirondack color wash) und dabei auch gleich die glockenblumen noch mit gefärbt;) … manchmal denke ich, hintergründe machen ist meine eigentliche bestimmung;)
then i grabbed a box of 91 (!) flash cards (bought on ebay a while ago) and spray painted them, too. yes, all of them… reserve, you know…
als ich dann fand, dass ich jetzt erstmal genug vorrat an aquarellhintergründen hätte, kam mir noch eine schachtel mit flash cards in die finger. hatte ich mal bei ebay erstanden… ich besprühte gleich alle 91 (!)… sagte ich schon: vorrat?
and this little one thought he might help me… ladybugs are also sometimes called “seven points” in german. he found his number;)
der kleine musste dann auch noch mithelfen. er hat sich flink seine bestimmungsnummer erklettert;)
