inspiriert zu dieser karte wurde ich durch angela behrendt mit ihren gestickten “i like amy winehouse” briefmarken – und deswegen geht diese karte auch an sie…

i was inspired to this card by angela behrendt and her stitched “i like amy winehouse” stamps – and this is my answer to her…

hab zuerst diesen friedhofsengel auf weißen karteikarton gedruckt
first i printed this graveyard angel onto white cardstock

die rückseite wieder mal mit meinen geliebten vivid-refills (hier natürlich schwarz) eingefärbt und mit wasser bespritzt; nach dem trocknen mit dem laminiergerät gebügelt (ohne folie, versteht sich;))
painted the backside with black refill-dyeink (vivid) and spritzed with water; when dry, ironed with the laminator (without foil, of course;))

“artistamps” hergestellt mit herzstempel (rbbb); gnagnagna, der “post”-stempel ist mir beim abwaschen in den spülabfluss gerutscht (hab ja immer alles unmontiert…) und ist damit für immer weg…
schrift (acapella-stempel) und friedhof (greenpepperpress) gestempelt, artistamps aufgeklebt…

nach kaum einer halben stunde suche nach meinem dymo (ich war kurz vorm aufgeben) die “goodbye”-streifen gedruckt und aufgeklebt

after searching for my dymo almost half an hour i printed the “goodbye” stripes

und dann noch die andere seite fertig gemacht: den engel mit gesichtsstreifen von amy winehouse verfremdet, “POST mortem” ist wieder ein privat hergestellter stempel; neocolor II für den rand… und noch die adresse drauf. ich wusste nicht, ob bei all dem geklebe die post noch eine 45er marke akzeptiert hätte, aber die 55er fand ich thematisch sowieso passender;)

wednesdaystamper “exotic places”

in den 80ern war ich 2x in ägypten auf rucksacktour (mit zwei tapferen freundinnen;)) – von kairo nach abu simbel, vom roten meer und dem sinai bis zu den oasen im westen… es waren harte tage dabei, aber die erfahrungen waren es wert (ich gebe zu, ich hab mich bei der rückkehr irrsinnig über mein badezimmer gefreut;))
es war eine sehr einfache art des reisens, nix luxusdampfer etc., sondern mit viel direktem kontakt zur einheimischen bevölkerung. wir lernten eine wahnsinnig interessante alte kultur kennen, besuchten natürlich all die historischen plätze, aber auch das heutige ägypten ist von unserem alltag so dermaßen verschieden, dass dieser eindruck lange nachhielt. noch heute kann es vorkommen, dass in meinen träumen plötzlich wieder unvergessliche momente wiederkehren…

hier ein ab-spread als beitrag für die mittwochstempler, grundierung mit “ägyptisch goldener” lumiére-farbe, und natürlich haben wir auch papyrus importiert…
stempel größtenteils von stempelmine, selbstgeschnitztes alpha auf dem papyrusstreifen.

in the 80ies i was twice on rucksack-tours in egypt (with two brave girlfriends;)) – a really primitive way of travelling, no luxury at all, but very close contact to the people there. we got to know that impressive old culture at all the historic places, but the contemporary egypt also is so different from our way of living – and this impression lasts on and comes back in my dreams sometimes… from cairo to abu simbel, from the red sea and the sinai to the oases in the west… we had hard days sometimes, but all the endeavors were well worth it… (i do admit i really enjoyed my bathroom back home;))
this is an altered book spread for the wednesdaystampers´ challenge, background painted with golden lumiére, and of course we brought some papyrus with us…
stamps mostly from the german stempelmine; erasercarved alpha on the papyrus.

first snow

wir hatten den ersten schnee dieses wochenende… ist ja immer etwas zwiespältig, sieht zwar (wenigstens frisch geschneit) schön aus, aber mit dem rad fahr ich dann nicht mehr so gerne den berg bei uns runter…
egal, jetzt ist es noch genau ein monat bis hl. abend und es wird zeit, die kids mal nach ihren wünschen zu interviewen…
und weil es weihnachten ja meistens eher nicht schneit, schon mal heute dieses nett cartoonierte lied - die lebkuchensaison ist hiermit offiziell eröffnet;))

we had the first snow of this winter this weekend… that is always a little ambivalent: it looks wonderful (at least when the snow is fresh), but riding the bike gets difficult…
anyway, it is exactly one month til xmas eve today, time to ask the kids for their wishes…
and because xmas is often snow-free, i already link to this beautifully cartooned song today – the lebkuchen-season is officially opened now;))

google hat mich darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass heute der geburtstag des großen surrealisten rené magritte ist – er wurde 1898 geboren.
etliche seiner bildmotive hat rbbb herausgebracht, mittlerweise bei stamp francisco erhältlich (einfach bei “search” den begriff “magritte” eingeben)

(gibts als stempel auch bei viva las vegastamps)

kam grade mit der post – meine neueste errungenschaft von etsy.com. das kartenspiel ist zwar nicht komplett (war eine sammlung von werbekarten), aber sind diese gesichter nicht unbezahlbar klasse?? na ja, wenigstens nach meinem geschmack… *g*

i must show you my newest etsy-buy. this is a couple of cards (not a complete deck) released by “gourlay bros. piano co.”. aren´t these faces priceless?? well, yes… just my taste *g*

i made some of these cobweb-backgrounds at our stamp retreat 3 weeks ago. spiderweb (tim holtz) stamped with gesso, let dry, sprayed with glimmer mist.

giant spider (green eyed goblin; not sure if still in business) stamped with black brilliance (my favorite black stamppad, actually)

glued on two postal stamps
cancellation stamps by ma vinci

smeared on green fluid acrylic (brand: golden) and some gesso.
wanted the spider to be visible, so overstamped it again.
i liked how the fluid acrylic colored the gesso-stamped spiderweb at some points.

a little sandpaper treatment, some smearing again, the airmail label,
done!

auf unserem stempelwochenende in bad aibling war eine der gezeigten techniken das stempeln mit gesso (auch thema diesen monat bei michelle ward´s street team). ich hatte mir ein paar karten vorbereitet, auf denen ich das spinnennetz (tim holtz) mit gesso gestempelt habe und nach dem trocknen glimmer mist aufgesprüht habe.
dann lagen die karten erstmal bis heute… die bearbeitungsschritte seht ihr oben: abwechselnd stempeln, briefmarken aufkleben, drüber schmieren mit acrylic fluid (grün, von golden) und gesso, zum schluss noch ein bisschen mit sandpapier schmirgeln und luftpost-aufkleber drauf. die spinne hab ich zwei mal gestempelt, weil sie zwischendurch beim farbe auftragen fast ganz verschwunden war.

wednesdaystamper “snowflake kisses”

diese woche heißt die herausforderung bei den mittwochstemplern “snowflake kisses”. auf diesem atc sind die schneeflocken aus verschiedenen papieren gestanzt, für die dunklen flockenschatten hab ich einfach das gestanzte loch zum tupfen benutzt. engel auf transparency, silbernes embossing am rand.

for this week´s challenge i punched snowflakes from various papers and used the punched hole as a stencil to dab some snowflake shadows. angel is on transparency, edges heat-embossed with silver powder.
