today begins the annual give-away of “one world – one heart”, hosted by lisa swifka.if you leave a comment on this post, you can be the winner of…
an envelope filled with various napkins (more than shown in the pic). i have so many of them and usually you only need one or two of the same kind… so why not make a give-away with the rest. they are good for many mixed media projects.i will fill 2 envelopes with napkins (so 2 people can win) and send them to random chosen winners (worldwide; you only must go sure to leave an intact email address so i can contact you). the drawing will be on feb 15th.

theme at the wednesdaystamper challenge this week is “leonardo da vinci”. he was not only a great artist, but also a famous scientist. the background here is stamped with his drawings (stamp from judi kins).
the quote “scientists are peeping toms at the keyhole of eternity” also qualifies this for the current crazy amigo challege (“quotes”).

neues thema bei den
mittwochstemplern ist “leonardo da vinci”. er war ja nicht nur ein grandioser künstler, sondern auch ein berühmter wissenschaftler. einige seiner skizzen sieht man hier auf dem hintergrundstempel (von judi kins).bei den crazy amigos sind diese woche “sprüche” gefragt, dann passt das doch auch gleich;)

“herzen” sind diesmal gefragt bei “theme thursday”… tmta – “newspaper / zeitungen”
i decided to take “newspaper” as the new theme for tmta. i am often dyeing book pages etc on newspaper spread over the table… the ink soaks into the newspaper and it often gives nice mixtures of color… so it came to this background…
auf das thema “zeitungen” bin ich gekommen, weil ich oft alte buchseiten einfärbe und dabei zeitungen als unterlagen verwende… oft ergibt sich durch die tinte eine schöne farbmischung, so ist auch der hintergrund der ersten atc hier entstanden…
my second atc shows a newspaper boy, who were the main distributors of newspapers to the general public from the mid-19th to the early 20th century.
die zweite atc zeigt einen zeitungsjungen: diese jungs waren die hauptverteiler der zeitungen mitte des 19. jh bis in die 20er jahre des letzten jh.
mixed media monday: “something new”
“something new” is the current theme at mixed media monday. for this atc i used a new stamp, carved by ro bruhn who gave it to me as a gift. i love poppy seeds and the word “dream” (stamp by ma vinci) seemed to fit;)
“etwas neues” ist das aktuelle thema bei mmm. hier hab ich einen neuen stempel benutzt, den ich kürzlich von ro bruhn als geschenk erhalten habe. ich liebe mohnkapseln, und das wort “traum” (von ma vinci) fand ich hierzu auch passend;)

we just started a new year, the chinese new year will follow on feb 14. – it will be a year of the tiger… the tiger is a symbol of power of endurance, and i wish we all will have these characteristics for the next time…

nachdem wir gerade den beginn eines neues jahres gefeiert haben, sind am 14. februar die chinesen damit dran: für sie beginnt ein jahr des tigers…
mit dem tiger verbindet man stärke und ausdauer; diese eigenschaften wären wohl für uns alle wünschenswert…

spa this week wants to see “top hat and tails”. the little boy on this photo booth strip is playing around with this fashion style… as it fits to my flash card booklet, i had to cheat a little with the size;))
