the new textures nancy provided to play with are so awesome again… i used number 1+2+3+4 and tried various effects with them.
got these weaving spools on ebay a while ago and they are urgently waiting for me to try something. well, i already have an idea, only time is short this summer…

the challenge at “take a word” this week is peacock…
(i always thought white peacocks are albinos, but there is another pigment reduction called leucism… so don´t say these challenges are not improving my knowledge;))

am dienstag ist der “vater” der wilden kerle gestorben…
hab hier ein zweiteiliges interview gefunden – wer einigermaßen englisch kann…
und außerdem gibt es einen (bereits geschlossenen) blog, auf dem “wilde kerle” kunstwerke gesammelt sind: “terrible yellow eyes”
Maurice Sendak spottete gelegentlich über die Briefe, die aus Schulklassen an ihn, den Autor des Kinderbuchklassikers “Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen”, geschickt wurden. Zu sehr sei ihnen anzumerken, dass sie im Auftrag Erwachsener entstanden seien. Doch einen Brief zeigte er immer wieder gerne vor. “Wie teuer ist die Reise dahin, wo die wilden Kerle wohnen?”, hatte da ein Achtjähriger geschrieben: “Wenn es nicht zu teuer ist, wollen meine Schwester und ich dort den Sommer verbringen.”

fotobuch
ich hatte letztes jahr so viele hintergründe gesprayt, die ich gescannt habe zur mehrfachen wiederverwertung: sei es digital oder sonstwie. nun hab ich aus einigen davon zum ersten mal ein fotobuch (24 seiten) machen lassen, das mir als journal dienen soll. wollte es einfach mal ausprobieren und bin begeistert, wie sich die farben abgedruckt haben.
last year i sprayed so many backgrounds and scanned some of them for multiple use, digital or somehow else. now for the first time i got made a photo book (24 pages), which i plan to use as a journal. just wanted to try this and i am very pleased how the colors turned out.

theme at “take a word” is raven or blackbird. i used a claw photo i shot last year, blended in an old postcard, the blackbird songquote is from a stamp of greenpepperpress, mailart style brushes are made by myself, grungy frame brushes from shadowhouse.

wir sind dieses wochenende zu einer konfirmationsfeier eingeladen und ich wollte eine selbstgestaltete karte machen. der spruch von marc aurel gefiel mir und das foto stammt von letztem sommer…
