nachdem ich mich zwar im neuen jahr ein bisschen einschränken möchte bzgl. neukäufen, das aber natürlich keinesfalls für bücher gelten kann *g* – hier mein neuestes: mixed media nature journals, verfasst von l.k. ludwig.

ums gleich kurz zu machen: mir gefällt es sehr gut! natur als thema mag ich ja immer gerne, und es sind ein paar wunderbare beispiele und ideen darin.
klaro, mittlerweile hab ich sehr viele bücher richtung “altered”, “journals” etc, und selbstverständlich wiederholt sich inzwischen vieles an grundideen und techniken – man kann das rad ja nicht täglich neu erfinden. trotzdem gefallen mir etliche journale in diesem buch wirklich ausgezeichnet, das werde ich sicher oft zur hand nehmen. (ganz ehrlich, ich find´s auch erfrischend, nicht immer nur die gleichen vintage-gesichter zu sehen… und natur wird mir einfach nie langweilig.) ich würde es also bedenkenlos zum kauf empfehlen. (mein lieblingsjournal da drinnen besteht aus einem mica-sandwich-leporello, die cover sind aus raben-schwingen… ohhhh!!)

in short: i love it! nature has always been one of my favorite themes, and this book provides some wonderful samples and ideas. well, meanwhile i have a lot of books concerning “altered”, “journals” etc, and of course there are repetitions of ideas and techniques – you can´t reinvent the wheel every day… but there are some really beautiful journals in this book, i´m sure i will browse it often. (and well, for me it´s refreshing not to see the same vintage faces over and over again… i never get bored by nature!) so i really would recommend it… (my favorite journal in the book is a mica-sandwich-leporello, which has covers of raven-wings… ohhhh!)

hab gestern dieses buch von angela cartwright bekommen, auf das ich recht gespannt war, weil mir ihre sachen in somerset etc. immer sehr gut gefallen haben.
hab natürlich noch nix ausprobiert, nur durchgeblättert, aber was ich so sehe, gefällt mir sehr! hab schon vor einiges davon auszuprobieren.
das buch beginnt mit einer einführung in ein paar grundsätze künstlerischer fotografie, dann kommt ein kapitel über colorieren. auch wenn die mit transparenter ölfarbe eingefärbten fotos wirklich gut aussehen, mein ding wird das wohl eher nicht werden. für mich wirds spannend ab dem zweiten drittel, wo es darum geht, die bilder mit verschiedensten medien zu bearbeiten und sie in collagen aus papier & stoff einzubetten. das gefällt mir sehr gut! auch das kapitel “effects and beyond” finde ich toll. klasse ideen, werde mir da sicher mal was rausziehen für eigene arbeiten.
am schluss noch ein kapitel mit entsprechenden arbeiten verschiedener bekannter mixed-media-künstlerinnen – hier sind natürlich auch sehr schöne sachen dabei!

so dass ich sagen kann: kaufen gehen! lohnt sich sehr (und ist nicht teuer, hab bei amazon 18,99 euro bezahlt).
