the full moon of june is the strawberry moon: “Strawberries were ready to be picked and eaten” – the background is spray painted in turquoise, which is theme at take-a-word this week.
find the complete series of the full moons by clicking the label below (10 are made so far, the other two will come soon)

the moon series: wolf moon
tomorrow is full moon again, time for a new file folder page in my series – according to the algonquian indians it is “wolf moon” (hungry wolf packs howled at night) … and a theme also fitting the take-a-word challenge “nature”.
morgen ist mal wieder vollmond… wenn ihr meine bisherigen seiten dazu sehen wollt, welche namen die vollmonde der verschiedenen monate haben, klickt ihr hier.
wishing you a sparkling 2012!!
bei uns war die silvesternacht nass… deshalb hab ich mich an die restbestände von bärenklau gehalten, die mit ihren spinnenförmigen dolden auch ein bisschen wie ein feuerwerk aussehen, zumindest nach der fotobearbeitung;) the night of silvester was rainy… so i took a photo of a withered heracleum, which also looks a bit like a firework after being edited;)
7th day of textures from kim
another day, another texture from kim… thank you so much, again!
here i used “wonderfulmagic” 3 times, plus serendipity and golden (both also from kim).
the text part “Rest” (font: adorable, thanks for the tip, rosie ) is circled with a scribble brush, a freebie from kim a while ago. love this brush!
the color fits the theme “sepia” of tomorrow´s take-a-word challenge, and the three muses want to see “angels” this week.
merry christmas
take a word: umbrella
the photo with the umbrella seeds of a dandelion was the starting point for this layout. all elements (background, ticket, circles) are from jessica sprague, brushes (tapes, halftone pattern) are free downloads found in the internet.
take a word: moon
anything related with the moon is asked for at the new challenge at take a word.
i found this site which told me that there are special names for the full moon during each month of the year:
“The names for the Full Moon were made up by the Algonquian tribes of Native Americans. Most of the Algonquian people hunted and fished to get food, but some also grew crops. The names they had for the Moon are related to nature & the seasons, hunting & fishing, and farming. The Algonquian people lived all over the northern and eastern parts of North America. When settlers from Europe met up with them, some of the settlers started using most of the same names for the Full Moon.”
“Time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to make sure of a supply of warm winter furs”
spraypainted background, digital work for preparing some photos (merged the moon with a beaver, edited the native american girl from edward s. curtis, typed the tapes from jessica sprague...) – printed and glued… tree stamp from flamingo artstamps germany
my plan is to make a file-folder page for every full moon name… stay tuned…
buddha quotes – sewing project
i wanted to make a little something for the girlfriend of my son… she´s such a wonderful young woman, a very creative soul and always appreciating my works. so i made this fabric scroll around a wooden bobbin, as she is a quotes lover like i am. this way i could combine some of my favorite media: i printed out some of the photos i made and edited recently (onto fabric), searched for some quotes (typed them onto scanned spraypainted backgrounds, also printed them on fabric) and sewed these alternating onto a long yellow piece of fabric.
(i´m a bit early, but as the theme of take-a-word on monday will be “sewing”, i offer this one for my contribution)
black cat…
take a word: childhood
i found this postcard on a flea market a while ago. the backside tells me the photo was taken by aglaia risch, 1984 in belgium. i started a google research, but could not find out more about this photographer…
