page for michelle ward

seen here before??
yes! :) )
but i didn´t reveal that it was a journal page for michelle ward.
she got this as a “secret mission” julie prichard had organized and now it arrived at michelle. it was thought to ease the memories of her sister, who died one year ago. if you want to see the whole collaboration you can click at this flickr-link.

wednesdaystamper “fashion/mode”

“the bigger the hair, the closer to god”
(textstamp on transparency from viva las vegastamps)
~~~
ws challenges us for the wide theme of fashion…
picture snippet from a magazine; background stamps: lost coast design, ma vinci
schön weitgefächert ist das thema der mittwochstempler diesmal… ich hab mich auf die haarmode gestürzt;)
der textstempel auf der folie ist von viva las vegastamps; die hintergrundstempel von lost coast design und von ma vinci
wednesdaystamper “mixed media”/3
another piece for the challenge, with fabric selvage and cheesecloth…
yesterday i cut the “rusty” blooms of the lilac. i got a little melancholy – i love lilac so much and now it is almost another year i have to wait for this wonderful scent again…
well “everything has its time” (kohelet)… but i would love to enlarge some seasons;) may, for example…
on the other side there is still enough to enjoy these days – as asparagus (love it!) and the strawberries which are just starting to ripen now.
aller guten dinge sind drei;) also noch ein beitrag für die mittwochstempler, diesmal neben dem stoffsaum noch mit eingefärbter mullbinde…
gestern hab ich die verblühten rostigen fliederblüten abgeschnitten. mir wars etwas wehmütig zumute – flieder liebe ich ganz besonders, aber nun muss ich wieder fast ein jahr auf diesen duft warten…
na ja, “alles hat seine zeit” heißt es ja schon bei kohelet… manche zeiten hätte ich aber gerne länger;) den mai zum beispiel…
andererseits gibt es immer noch lecker spargel und die einheimische erdbeersaison beginnt ja erst… also noch genug, woran man sich freuen kann.
journaling
michelle ward prompts us this month to handwrite in our journals (“cat got your tongue?”)…
actually the only journal i handwrite in is the one about my health i started last december before i had to go to hospital… i prepared the backgrounds, took some stamps, pictures etc with me and had the luck to be in a single bed room, so i could journal there, too… (well, limited stuff compared with home, but it was ok)
as said, the journal is about my health. i suffer from ulcerative colitis/crohn disease for two decades now and have hard times alternating with better ones. but you can keep it short: the harder times are *d*mn s*h*t* – literally (as the title means, written in german on the cover…)
actually i hesitated to show it on my blog. i kept it private so far (and most of the pages will not be published). but then i thought, as my intro spread says:
… and i decided to show some spreads:
i had my handcarved alpha with me and seems i prefer to sum up the text of a page in one or two words…
~~~~~

for hiding details (thoughts that should not be seen at first sight) i made little envelopes. text is at the back of the small cards inside and hides well:

here i blurred the text i wanted to keep private…
i love the ttv pictures i´m always hunting for in the internet

think positive… sometimes easier said than done; but i try…
the “think pink” stamp is custom made.

it was about two weeks before christmas when i went into the hospital. i had taken a pic of a snowy park with me to write about christmas feelings… guess what: one day i woke up, blended by the sun and the sight from my room was exactly like that (without the fir) – fresh snow in the park outside…
~~~~~
i had prepared the journal with silk paints, which worked wonderfully!! i have quite some remains of these paints from my long-ago-time of silk painting… before throwing them out i thought to give it a try… they give a nice shimmer. only thing to consider: let them dry thoroughly, they might be sticky otherwise!
stamping done with brilliance pads.
a biro and a white gel pen were all i had with me for writing…
castaway stamppad
hier sind zwei karten, auf denen ich mit dem castaway stempelkissen experimentiert habe. für beide hintergründe weißen karteikarton eingefärbt mit vivid dyeinks (verdünnte refills), nach dem trocknen katzenmotive (rbbb) gestempelt mit sattem castaway-kissen, nach trocknen des abdrucks auf stufe 3 gebügelt.
cat imprints on the background (stamps: rbbb) made with a castaway stamppad. white cardstock dyed with vivid inks (thinned refills), after drying stamped with castaway, let dry, ironed on high temperature.
