wednesdaystamper “earth day”

great challenge… thanks for the chance to
  • play with my new toy :) )
  • use my brandnew stamps (they are from art journey, netherlands – 2 plates with motifs from karl blossfeldt plants, which i just LOVE!!)

i´ve got a new TOY !!!

edit: because i have been asked how the machine looks like:
(not big, but heavy!)
~~~~~~
i´ve been a buttoholic for ages… and i soooo wanted my own machine to make badges – now i CAN!!!
i bought the “middle size” format (38 mm), because i was told the small one (25 cm/1 inch) wouldn´t be able to make fabric badges; and of course i want that, too! i haven´t tried that out so far – but the first badges from paper are made… and it is FUN!!! (and easy…)
schon immer wollte ich meine eigene buttonmaschine… und jetzt ist das spielzeug da-ha!!! :) ))
ich hab mir die mittlere größe (38 mm) gegönnt, weil sich mit der kleinen (25 mm) laut verkäufer nicht gut stoffbuttons machen lassen. mal sehen, ob es mit dieser geht… möchte ich natürlich gerne, habs aber noch nicht probiert. erste versuche mit papier waren aber erfolgreich – und es geht supereinfach!
wednesdaystamper “altered postcard-backside”
wednesdaystamper´s challenge gave me the chance to do a lot of smearing with gesso and paints, i was in a totally grungy mood;)
the yellow text from an old book says: “that you might enjoy life” – with two weeks of sunshine now my mood really is the best:))
most stamps are from ma vinci, the seahorse pair is from third coast rubberstamps.
richtig schön nach schmieren war mir zumute, mit viel farbe und gesso…
der text aus einem alten buch passt richtig zu meiner stimmung: seit 2 wochen sonne, wie gut das tut!
stempel überwiegend von ma vinci, das seepferdchenpaar ist von third coast rubberstamps.
wednesdaystamper “bella italia”
it´s hard to think of “bella” italia these days… my thoughts are with the people who suffer from the great earthquake two days ago…
two years ago i was in rome for the first time – i loved it! and of course i threw a coin into the fontana trevi, which makes sure i will return;)
(stamps from rbbb)
schwer, dieser tage an “bella” italia zu denken… sofort drängt sich das schwere erdbeben von vorgestern in den vordergrund…
vor zwei jahren war ich zum ersten mal in rom und total fasziniert – selbstverständlich hab ich eine münze in den trevibrunnen geworfen, zwecks wiederkehr;)
journaling
michelle ward prompts us this month to handwrite in our journals (“cat got your tongue?”)…
actually the only journal i handwrite in is the one about my health i started last december before i had to go to hospital… i prepared the backgrounds, took some stamps, pictures etc with me and had the luck to be in a single bed room, so i could journal there, too… (well, limited stuff compared with home, but it was ok)
as said, the journal is about my health. i suffer from ulcerative colitis/crohn disease for two decades now and have hard times alternating with better ones. but you can keep it short: the harder times are *d*mn s*h*t* – literally (as the title means, written in german on the cover…)
actually i hesitated to show it on my blog. i kept it private so far (and most of the pages will not be published). but then i thought, as my intro spread says:
… and i decided to show some spreads:
i had my handcarved alpha with me and seems i prefer to sum up the text of a page in one or two words…
~~~~~

for hiding details (thoughts that should not be seen at first sight) i made little envelopes. text is at the back of the small cards inside and hides well:

~~~~~
here i blurred the text i wanted to keep private…
i love the ttv pictures i´m always hunting for in the internet
~~~~~

think positive… sometimes easier said than done; but i try…
the “think pink” stamp is custom made.

~~~~~
it was about two weeks before christmas when i went into the hospital. i had taken a pic of a snowy park with me to write about christmas feelings… guess what: one day i woke up, blended by the sun and the sight from my room was exactly like that (without the fir) – fresh snow in the park outside…
~~~~~
i had prepared the journal with silk paints, which worked wonderfully!! i have quite some remains of these paints from my long-ago-time of silk painting… before throwing them out i thought to give it a try… they give a nice shimmer. only thing to consider: let them dry thoroughly, they might be sticky otherwise!
stamping done with brilliance pads.
a biro and a white gel pen were all i had with me for writing…

new rubber from michelle ward

michelle has released a new sheet of rubber (about half A4-size) with wonderful images!! can´t wait to get them:)
with this she is fundraising for a friend, who lost her house in a fire… read about it at michelle´s blog and you can order here.

(btw: i noticed i can´t make comments to typepad-blogs for a while now… no idea why…)
