i was just making this atc for the current art-on-the-darkside challenge (bad santa), then i saw wednesdaystampers have the santa-theme, too. i hope you are not too scared;)

war grade am machen dieser atc für art-on-the-darkside, da kam das neue thema der mittwochstempler rein. santa claus. na, besonders santa ist der vermutlich nicht, aber man solls ja auch mit dem kitsch nicht übertreiben (*g*; das SPA thema nächsten sonntag wird dann wieder “klassischer”, versprochen;))

textstempel von rbbb; für das bild kann ich leider keine quellenangabe liefern, habs mal in einer yahoogruppe über “dark” art gekriegt, die gibts aber leider nimmer.

hab mich auf den aspekt “fun” der aktuellen herausforderung der 3 musen konzentriert und einen spruch von katherine hepburn ausgewählt…

auf eingefärbtem karton mit ma vinci – stempeln den hintergrund gestaltet; das foto hatte ich mir mal aus dem internet abgespeichert; der text wurde auf eingefärbtes papier gedruckt und zum schluss die ränder wie meistens mit neocolor II stiften bearbeitet.

tmta – “dreams / träume”

tmta´s theme this week is dreams…
i went with the german word “traum”
(the literal translation would be “dreamdancer”, but i think the english word for traumtänzer is daydreamer, someone who has his head in the clouds…)

the scan doesn´t show the colors well (the spiked balls are blue)
base is ledger paper; stamps from diva (dancer), radiolarian balls from leavenworth jackson and non sequitur; textstamp custom made

mal wieder eine rein gestempelte atc für tmta…

die radiolarien in drei größen sind eigentlich blau, aber der scanner will so nicht;)

mixed media monday: “bedtime stories”

today the theme at mmm is “bedtime stories”.

my first thought went to one of my favorite children´s books: “where the wild things are” (author: maurice sendak)
wild little max is sent to bed, falls asleep and his dreams lead him to the land of the wild things. i´m quite sure everybody knows this book, it´s a modern classic. (if not: go and look after it!!) and since october there is a movie about it in the usa (will start mid-december here in germany).

a while ago i bought this fabric of the wild things from equilter… i created 3 postal stamps (with help of the book), glued and sewed them on; smeared a little white acrylic fluid (golden) onto the fabric to make the cancellation stamps (ma vinci) better visible; printed text on dyed paper, sewed on also. added moon charm (artchix) on the top.

“gute-nacht-geschichten” lautet das thema diese woche bei mixed media monday.

spontan kam mir eins meiner lieblings-kinderbücher in den sinn: “wo die wilden kerle wohnen” von maurice sendak
der kleine wilde max wird ohne abendessen ins bett geschickt und landet in seinen träumen bei den “wilden kerlen”. ich glaube, das buch kennen die meisten, es ist quasi ein moderner klassiker (wenn nicht, schaut mal im buchladen danach!!). es wurde kürzlich auch verfilmt, läuft seit oktober in den usa und kommt am 17. dezember bei uns in die kinos.

vor einer weile gab es den “wilde kerle”-stoff bei equilter. musste ich natürlich haben! hab einen rapport davon genommen (din a 4)… hab mit hilfe des buches 3 briefmarken hergestellt, aufgeklebt und aufgenäht; damit die briefstempel (ma vinci) besser sichtbar wurden, hab ich etwas weißes acrylic fluid (golden) auf den stoff geschmiert; auf eingefärbtes papier den text gedruckt, aufgeklebt & aufgenäht. dann noch den mond (artchix) am oberen himmel angebracht.

den hintergrund hatte ich mir auf einem vorgefärbten karton mit einer cuttlebug geprägt (auf unserem workshop wochenende letztes jahr in bad aibling; ist also schon gut abgehangen;)) – der schneemann auf der folie wurde von hinten mit gesso bemalt; mit blauen heftklammern aufgetuckert; text auf eingefärbtes papier mit buchstaben von teesha moore

diese woche fordern uns die drei musen heraus, uns mit dem thema zeit zu beschäftigen…
da gibt´s ja endlos viele sprüche, und einen davon habe ich hier umgesetzt.

the surprise hit me at my couch… i didn´t know (actually: had forgotten) belinda had sent in some dolls of our icicle swap to stampington.
so i was just browsing through the new issue of the magazine and suddely i hesitated… hey, what´s that?? whaaaa, my edgar allan poe icicle doll is published!!!
made my day!!!



na, das war wirklich DIE überraschung!! ich blättere da nichts ahnend auf der couch durch die neue ausgabe von sew somerset, da stutze ich auf einmal und plötzlich wird mir klar: “die kennste doch”… mein e.a. poe icicle püppchen! belinda hatte ein paar exemplare aus dem swap letzten jahres an stampington geschickt (hatte sie wohl mal erwähnt, aber ich hatte es längst vergessen…) und voilà… hier seht ihr es im großformat!
freu mich sehr darüber:)))

tmta – “blue bird”

i love when i have some dyed cardstock here for “instant use”;) so this atc for tmta was quickly made: raven on transparency, stamps from nick bantock and custom made (“quoth the raven”)

für tmta sollen diesmal vögel auf einer blau gehaltenen atc gemacht werden. gut dass hier vorgefärbter karton zum schnellen gebrauch rumliegt;) so musste ich nur noch den raben (auf folie) aufkleben. stempel von nick bantock und privatherstellung (spruch).

mmm challenges us to incorporate a playing card into our creation… i chose a card from the “mexican loteria” game (here a fabric variation). tag is from basic grey, stamps from ma vinci and custom made. text printed onto dyed ledger paper and glued on.

mmm fordert uns diese woche heraus, eine spielkarte mit einzubeziehen. ich hab mich für eine karte aus dem mexikanischen “loteria”-spiel entschieden (hier als stoffausgabe).
weihnachtliches tag von basic grey, stempel von ma vinci und privatanfertigung (“schneefallgrenze”). text auf eingefärbtes kontenpapier gedruckt und aufgeklebt. (bändel fehlen noch, vielleicht wirds aber auch teil eines tag-buches…)
