it´s been a long time since i carved my last stamp. but i had to do it now, as this month´s loteria theme is “el camaron” (the shrimp) and i only had a storebought one that obviously almost all of the other participants have, too. i wanted to offer some more variety, so here are the guys: the right one looks a bit angry, doesn´t he? i think he felt i don´t like carving fine lines *g*.

für die loteria musste ich diesen monat nach langer zeit mal wieder zum schnitzmesser greifen. ich hatte nur einen shrimp-stempel, den offensichtlich viele andere auch haben, und ich wollte dann doch etwas vielfalt reinbringen. hier oben seht ihr meine zwei camarons. der rechte schaut ein bisschen grantig, finde ich, aber das kann einfach daran liegen, dass ich es mit den feinen linien nicht so habe…

one of my favorite zines is artitude. today i got the newest issue (nr 21) and was happy to see my art published in the color gallery on page 34. normally i don´t send my artwork across the big pond (to somerset etc.) as i don´t love to take the postal risk! but here it was ok to send in a scan, so here it is…it is “the raven”-booklet (intro-page).

eine meiner lieblingszeitschriften ist artitude zine. heute kam die neue ausgabe (nr 21, sommer 06) und ich habe erfreut festgestellt, dass ich auf seite 34 in der farbgallerie veröffentlicht bin mit meinem “the raven”-booklet ) ich schicke ja normalerweise nix von meinen sachen nach übersee (somerset etc.), weil ich einfach keine lust habe, mich dem postrisiko auszuliefern. aber hier hat es gereicht, einen scan einzuschicken, also bin ich drin…:)))

yesterday we met with friends in munich celebrating waltharis 50th birthday (15 months ago:)) – i had made this book for him and it was a hit!
in the evening some of the group watched the soccer-match for third place of the worldcup. i only looked the second half, but that was enough to see the best scenes and goals:) it was a feast again! the vibes couldn´t have been better if the germans had got the title! just super- as the acceptance they had in berlin today. what a great finish for a great team!!

gestern waren wir in münchen zur nachfeier von waltharis 50ten (hihi, 15 monate später… wie gut ich ihn verstehe:)) — das buch, das ich ihm gemacht hatte, kam super an und wanderte natürlich durch alle hände, weil einige von denen, die auf den fotos sind, auch da waren.
ein paar schauten abends das spiel um platz 3. ich nur die zweite hälfte, aber nix versäumt: die besten szenen und die tore fielen genau da. eine stimmung war da wieder, es hätte nicht besser sein können, wenn die jungs den titel geholt hätten! und auch heute auf ihrem empfang in berlin, unbeschreiblich und mitreißend!! welch tolles wm-ende für ein super team!!

i was at a jewish graveyard today. took some pics, but it was raining and so only few turned out as i wanted them.

war heute auf einem jüdischen friedhof. leider hat es geregnet und so sind etliche bilder ausschuss…

we had a class reunion last weekend in my hometown. 30 years of abitur (that is in germany the general qualification for university entrance). oh yeah, we were all complaining about our old-age depressions *g*. actually, the most we regretted is the fact that our eyes are getting worse with becoming the thread into the needles, hehe. last year we decided we will go to rome this november, as we had no final trip at school alltogether (26 people, and it looks as if more than a half will join the ride). preparations are running, i´m happily looking forward to this journey… i never was in rome before! — we had a great day together, and even 9 of our previous teachers came to company. we meet every 5 years to fresh up our memories. i think we were a really special class, as we were the first to start this gymnasium (grammar school? lycee? don´t know the comparable school in other countries) and the first age-group to leave school having got the abitur.

letztes wochenende hatten wir in meinem heimatort klassentreffen – 30 jahre abitur!! wie die zeit verfliegt! wir mussten natürlich alle über das alter jammern *g*, v.a. weil wir festgestellt haben, dass für die meisten eigentlich das schlimmste die schwindende sehschärfe ist, hihi. wir treffen uns alle 5 jahre, weil wir uns wirklich immer gut verstanden haben (wir waren der gründungsjahrgang unseres gymnasiums, und auch die lehrer schauen bei unseren treffen noch gerne vorbei – diesmal immerhin 9 von ihnen!). da wir damals aufgrund des kollegstufensystems keine gemeinsame “klassen”abschlussfahrt hatten, beschlossen wir bei unserem letzten treffen, das auf eigene faust zum “30.” nachzuholen – also dieses jahr. wir wollen anfang november (herbstferien) fahren, wenn es nicht mehr so heiß ist. ich freu mich schon total, ich war noch nie in rom! von unseren 26 abiturienten haben sich schon über die hälfte dafür angemeldet, das wird sicher toll!!
